DC Comics has decided to expand some more, but is this too much too soon? I mean, I know that Gotham is doing extremely well, but should they jump the gun and add another show about people before the superhero becomes the superhero? I know… Confusing, but read on and you will understand.
SYFY has confirmed that they will be bringing Krypton to life. It will be a series about Superman’s grandfather and his ill-fated planet.
Based on the comic from the 80’s written by John Byrne, we will follow Kal-El’s grandfather named Seyg-El (No word yet on whether or not they will keep that name, but based on other shows, there is a strong likelihood that they will.) Here is their official description:
“Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.”
With all that said, I don’t know how I really feel about this. I am too concerned that DC is getting too laced with their decisions. We should make a show just for the sake of having another superhero type show. This can just lead to more people getting sick of the superhero fad.
I personally like having all of these movies and shows because they give another perspective and point of view, but what’s next, a show about how Aquaman’s parents met?
All I am saying is be careful. We don’t want this to end badly.
